Seat types
Every organization member is assigned a seat type that determines which product capabilities they can access. Seat types are independent of roles and plan tiers. A member's role controls administrative permissions, while their seat type controls product capabilities. A feature may require both a specific plan and a specific seat type.
Available seat types
Developer
Developer seats have full access to all product capabilities. New members are assigned the developer seat type by default.
Basic
Basic seats are limited to viewing and interacting with shared data through Foxglove-managed connections. They cannot author layouts, open local files, connect to arbitrary data sources, or install local extensions.
